This Death Star cornhole board is ambitious
Spring is almost here, which means, thanks to global warming, summer is almost here. It’s time to get outside, expose your skin to sunlight, and take part in an outdoor activity that requires the absolute least amount of effort. Traditionally, that activity has been cornhole—or “bean bag toss,” if you’re a square. The rules are simple, you can play it while holding a beer, and if you suck at it, hey, you’ve still got that beer. But if you’re less interested in backyard shenanigans and more interested in reliving the Death Star trench run from Star Wars, this insanely detailed custom cornhole board is just for you.
Hyperdyne Labs, makers of the realistic sounding and looking Hyperblade and a host of other screen-accurate sci-fi gadgets, have been hard at work on this ambitious game board and recently posted some of their tests on their YouTube channel. The objective is to toss your bean bag directly into the Death Star’s thermal exhaust port (roughly the size of a womp rat) and try not go down in flames like Red Leader. Whether your attack run is successful or not, you’ll be rewarded with sound effects, flashing lights, and bits of dialog that correspond to different results. All in all, there are enough Easter eggs in this game to make going outside almost worth it.
