Tupac Shakur’s foundation is releasing a new single and mixtape

As hard as Michael Jackson may try, Tupac Shakur is the master of posthumous album releases. Somehow, he kept putting music out for 10 years after his death, and now The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation will keep that streak going by releasing a new single and mixtape in his honor. This comes from HipHopDX, which doesn’t actually say that Shakur will appear on the single, just that Kamil “Muszamil” Beale and Dame Grease are creating it “in support” of him and that it will feature some yet-unnamed hip-hop artists who are probably not Tupac. So it doesn’t seem like we’ll actually hear Tupac on the track, but at least his name will be on it. That counts for something.

The single will be available on some unknown future date at 2Pac.com for $0.99, and the mixtape—which will also feature yet-unnamed hip-hop artists who are probably not Tupac—will be available for free. This is all being done to promote the aforementioned Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, which is a Georgia-based non-profit run by Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, that promotes creative-arts education for kids. All proceeds raised from the single—whenever it’s available—will be going to support the foundation.
