Release date: Potentially June 29, 2018, though there hasn’t been any confirmation regarding which film Fox plans to release on that date.
The story: This could be the ’90s-set sequel to X-Men: Apocalypse teased by producer Simon Kinberg, a project that is rumored to take the mutants to space (something they do quite often in the comics). It could be the New Mutants spin-off that Fox is developing with director Josh Boone and writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who previously worked together on the hugely successful The Fault In Our Stars adaptation. Perhaps it’s the Doug Liman-directed Gambit solo movie with Channing Tatum in the lead role. The long shot option is that Fox will finally get its X-Force movie out of development and into production, but it’s still a possibility, especially if Deadpool 2 ends up setting up that spin-off by introducing X-Force characters.
