Upcoming screen pairings to redefine "chemistry"
Not since Sylvester Stallone and Rob Schneider got together on a little ditty called Judge Dredd have we seen a more inspired cinematic coupling than these two projects announced today:
– Rap/rap-sheet artist DMX is pairing with Kris Kristofferson for Jump Out Boys, an upcoming actioner about escaped convicts currently filming in Louisiana. Not much is known about the project (it doesn't even have an IMDB page), but a report from the set says it features lots of "shootout scenes, car chases, and explosions." So much for hoping they're secretly remaking 1984's Songwriter, with DMX taking over the Willie Nelson role. (By the way, any producer running with that idea now owes me a cut.)
– It's been a cruel summer for Paris Hilton, whose recent jail stint not only led to losing The Simple Life (dashing any hopes for an "Alcatraz" edition with the recently convicted Nicole Richie), but allegedly also finally convinced her billionaire grandfather, Barron Hilton, that maybe rewarding the one person who has made the Hilton name a synonym for "stupid spoiled whore" with a $60 million inheritance isn't such a great idea. But luckily for Paris she's still gainfully employed, finding work opposite Paul Sorvino in Repo! The Genetic Opera. The futuristic thriller is set in 2056, "when a plague nearly destroys the human race and survival is dependent upon being able to finance a pricey organ transplant," and Hilton plays the daughter of Sorvino, an evil organ transplant magnate. (Maybe he can do something about her eye?)
