Vision
Who he is: Vision
His power: The extent of his power is unclear. With a body composed of both organic tissue and synthetic compounds, the vibranium in his makeup allows him to withstand almost any physical attack unscathed, and also grants him immense strength. He can adjust the mass and density of his body, becoming diamond-hard or intangible at will, as well as generate new matter as an extension of himself. He can fly, freeze in midair, and emit potent energy blasts from the infinity stone in his forehead.
His story: Vision’s is not a simple origin. In Age Of Ultron, the sentient AI’s quest to forge himself a sentient hybrid host led to his creation of the organic/synthetic body, into which he placed the Infinity Stone (known as the Mind Stone) taken from Loki’s scepter. However, the body is stolen by the Avengers, whereupon Tony Stark and Bruce Banner upload J.A.R.V.I.S. into the host. Thor then sends a bolt of lightning through the encased being, bringing him to life. An uncertain combination of J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron’s qualities, combined with whatever the Mind Stone created in him, Vision soon aligned with the Avengers and helped defeat Ultron, thereafter joining the team. He sided with Tony Stark during the events of Civil War, and accidentally injured War Machine during the opposing forces’ battle.
Played by: Paul Bettany
Currently, Vision is: Presumed back at the Avengers compound, where he lives.
Where will we see him next? Possibly sooner, but assuredly in Avengers: Infinity War, coming in 2018.
