We only get a few glimpses at the horror-heavy third Knives Out movie, set to arrive on Netflix on December 12.

Tonight is Netflix’s big Tudum Live event, packing a bunch of TV and film fans into the Kia Forum to watch movie and TV trailers and try to ignore the banter. That includes, for instance, banter from the cast and creator of new Knives Out film Wake Up Dead Man, with Rian Johnson, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Cailee Spaeny, Kerry Washington (and her T-shirt gun), Jeremy Renner, Daryl McCormack, Glenn Close (via a video), and, finally, Daniel Craig all doing an extended, mildly cute bit, before finally showing off a sneak peek of the movie.

And yeah, it’s pretty short, but we won’t try to tell you it isn’t effective: Johnson is clearly bringing Knives Out into a Southern Gothic mindset, blasting “O Death” on the soundtrack, showing Benoit Blanc looking ridiculously dapper while prowling around a church, and even showing the cast list with some old-school movie dress. We also got a release date, presented in Roman numerals (the most Gothic of all the numerals), with the film arriving on Netflix on December 12, 2025. (No word on that hypothetical theatrical release Johnson has been pining for, though. We can dream, because this really looks like it’s going to pop on a big screen.)
