Warner Bros. to build another Lego Movie on top of the first one
Knowing that a single Lego is worthless as anything besides a choking hazard, Warner Bros. is reportedly asking for a sequel to The Lego Movie, despite the fact that just got its Lego Movie. Indeed, it’s not even out until Friday. And yet, The Wrap says the studio is already demanding an expansion pack, based on the strength of early word of mouth and “advanced market research” that we’d like to imagine means the implanting of nanobots to map the brains of volunteers, but probably just means survey questions such as “Do you know what a Lego is? What about Batman?” proved encouraging. As of now, Lego Movie writer-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are not attached, with Mr. Popper’s Penguins and The Internship writer Jared Stern developing the script with another, unnamed collaborator. But don’t worry: The great thing about Lego is anyone can kind of just slap them together.
