Wednesday types out something presumably horrible in first season 3 photo from Netflix show

In a suitably stark new image from Netflix’s Charles Addams adaptation series Wednesday, Jenna Ortega sits, in her customary black-and-white goth finery, typing out something no doubt disturbingly poetic on an old-timey typewriter. (Either that, or Ortega is rewriting her lines again.) The photo, released today, is Netflix’s way of announcing that season three of the often Tim Burton-directed comedy-mystery series has officially wrapped production.

After utilizing her peerless powers of observation and witness-unnerving presence to unravel deadly mysteries over the course of two highly-rated (if indifferently reviewed) seasons, it’s unknown exactly what manner of spookiness (or, dare we say ookiness) will greet Ortega’s morbidly intrepid heroine this time around. (Although a previously released behind-the-scenes photo shows Ortega and Thing in front of the Eiffel Tower.) But Netflix has revealed that veteran Burton regulars and no strangers to the macabre Eva Green and Ortega’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice costar Winona Ryder will both join the cast, with Green playing Morticia Addams’ long-lost sister, Ophelia, as revealed in Season 2’s finale.

Alongside series regulars Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Fred Armisen, Isaac Ordonez, Joanna Lumley and Hunter Doohan, look for new Season 3 additions in Fright Night‘s Chris Sarandon, Game Of Thrones‘ Lena Headey, Preacher‘s own Hitler Noah Taylor and Andrew McCarthy, of all people. While there’s no official release date as yet, Netflix assures us that Wednesday will return sometime in 2027.
