Anora and Nickel Boys took home top screenplay honors.

Here are all the winners from tonight's WGA Awards
Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste

The 2025 Writers Guild Awards took place in New York tonight (with a satellite West Coast ceremony) and, surprise, it was more good news for Anora. Before that, though, Roy Wood Jr. delivered a barn-burning monologue, taking shots at Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Justin Baldoni during what he deemed the “last Black History Month.”

Given that the BAFTAs are tomorrow and are about a six-hour flight from New York, the guild opted to present arguably the biggest awards of the night—those for Best Screenplay and Best Adapted Screenplay—at the top of the show so the honorees may head to LaGuardia or JFK (or, heaven forbid, Newark) for the next award show of the weekend. But the ceremony covered a broad swath of writing, not only including television but for news, radio, and even commercial writing. In the room, the liquor was flowing between nominees (a fact that was obvious in some very funny and some messy moments at the podium), but below, the facts are as sober as a judge. Check out all the winners after the jump.
