Welcome to What’s On, our weekly roundup of notable shows. Here is what’s happening on TV from Sunday, August 17 to Saturday, August 23. All times are Eastern.

The biggies

The Twisted Tale Of Amanda Knox (Hulu, Wednesday, 12:01 a.m.)

Hulu’s miniseries chronicles the saga of Amanda Knox (Grace Van Patten), an American exchange student who was arrested for murdering her roommate in Italy in 2007. (The real Knox is an EP on the show). Over eight episodes, Twisted tracks the police investigation, tabloid coverage, and titular lead’s fight against the system. Sharon Horgan and Giuseppe De Dominico co-star. Read The A.V. Club‘s review.

Peacemaker (HBO Max, Thursday, 9 p.m.)

The multiverse takes over Peacemaker‘s new episodes, which incorporate the pocket dimensions introduced in Superman earlier this year. In the show, Chris Smith (John Cena) struggles to find his footing as alternate versions of his friends and family wreak havoc on his life. Meanwhile, Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) arrives to take revenge on Chris for murdering his son. The A.V. Club will recap the series weekly.

Long Story Short (Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.)

The latest animated show from BoJack Horseman‘s Raphael Bob-Waksberg centers on the Schwhooper family. Loosely inspired by the creator’s upbringing, Long Story Short jumps through several years to follow three siblings (voiced by Ben Feldman, Abbi Jacobson, and Max Greenfield) in various stages of their lives. Look for The A.V. Club‘s review on Friday.
