Task (HBO, Sunday, 9 p.m.)

Mare Of Easttown creator Brad Inglesby’s latest HBO drama sees Mark Ruffalo suit up as a Pennsylvania
-based FBI agent. He oversees a team to investigate a recent spate of home invasions, putting him on a collision course with the perpetrator (played by Ozark‘s Tom Pelphrey). Martha Plimpton, Fabien Frankel, Thuso Mbedu, and Alison Oliver co-star. The A.V. Club will recap the show weekly.


Only Murders In The Building (Hulu, Tuesday, 12:01 a.m.)

The Arconia’s favorite sleuths tackle a new mystery in season five: the suspicious death of their beloved doorman. Oliver (Martin Short), Mabel (Selena Gomez), and Charles (Steve Martin) come face to face with the case’s suspects, which include billionaires, Staten Island mobsters, and even a robot. As always, a string of famous folks join the cast, including Christoph Waltz and Renée Zellweger. Look for The A.V. Club‘s review on Monday.

The Girlfriend (Prime Video, Wednesday, 3:01 a.m.)

In The Girlfriend, Robin Wright (who also directs several episodes of the show) portrays a wealthy woman who becomes paranoid that her son’s new love interest, Cherry (Olivia Cooke), is a manipulative social climber. The A.V. Club‘s review of the thriller publishes Monday.


Helluva Boss (Prime Video, Wednesday, 3:01 a.m.)

Vivienne Medrano’s new animated comedy, which is set in the same universe as her series Hazbin Hotel, follows employees of an assassination company who, with the help of an ancient book, access the human world to send souls to Hell.
