Salma Hayek wants revenge in trailer for Angelina Jolie's latest feature

An official synopsis reads: 

Written, directed, and produced by Angelina Jolie, Without Blood is based on the acclaimed international bestselling novel by renowned Italian writer Alessandro Baricco. An unforgettable saga set in the aftermath of an unidentified conflict, it explores universal truths about war, trauma, memory, and healing.

Like Hayek’s character’s quest for revenge, Without Blood has also been on a fairly long journey. The film first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September of 2024 and opened in Italy last year. It’s also Jolie’s first feature directorial effort since 2017’s First They Killed My Father, though it seemingly follows a similar subject as the other war-centric films in Jolie’s directorial oeuvre. Hayek stars in the film with Demián Bichir and Juan Minujin, and it opens in theaters nationwide on October 18.
