The Wu-Tang Clan is reissuing its debut album, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), in a deluxe vinyl set just in time to pick it up for your mom for Christmas—because everyone deserves a copy, not just that jagoff Martin Shkreli. The new box set from Get On Down (who also released GZA’s Liquid Swords chess box) features the album as a collection of 7-inch singles packaged in a leather case, ensuring that you won’t be able to just sit down and enjoy the record, you’ll have to get up and flip sides thirteen times. The real gem in this set appears to be the extensive liner notes including commentary from RZA and Wu-Tang expert, Chris Faraone. So just shell out the cash, enjoy poring over the set, then log into your Spotify when you want listen to the full album like normal people do.
Another highlight of the leather-bound box set is the bonus 7-inch recreating the original self-released ”Protect Ya Neck” single. Originally released on Wu-Tang records in 1992, the original “Protect Ya Neck” featured most of the band (minus Masta Killa), a different beat, and a different order for the verses.
Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) is due out this December from Get On Down.
