Yellowjackets comes to a close this November, which is both unsurprising given that the last season ended with an imminent rescue for the teens, and somewhat surprising given that series creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson had previously said that they had a five season plan for the series. “What we realized at a certain point was that five seasons would require dragging things out a little bit, and four seasons would require speeding things up,” Lyle says in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly. “And ultimately, given the choice between the two, we feel good about how this played out. I would rather go out with a bang than overstay my welcome.” As Nickerson adds, “the way it was supposed to go was revealed to us.”
