First look at 12 12 12 sets the rules for Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan

There’s a reason professional thieves wear slacks and shiny shoes and whatnot: Their precision yields high asset gains, which allows for a cushy lifestyle that in no way draws the attention of the FBI, Scotland Yard, Interpol, or any authorities sniffing after such ambitious burglary jobs on behalf of the wealthy aggrieved. The Apple TV series 12 12 12 gives us a 30-second first look at why this particular career choice is so attractive to the pensive and exacting criminal element, as “disgraced FBI agent” Anthony Mackie lays down the ground rules for successful high-asset robberies to “career criminal” Jamie Dornan. Both, according to the series logline, will “play a zero-sum game of cat and mouse across Europe” that leads to a “daring, epic raid on a bank vault deep beneath the streets of Zurich.” Dornan, seen in a rumpled crewneck, proves a quick study. He’ll get those nice pants yet.

In truth, the efficiency of these rules, reflected in the heist series’ equally efficient title, makes high-stakes robbery simplicity itself. If you want a closet full of those crisp button-down shirts you see important people wearing downtown sometimes, you obey this math: 12 months of planning + 12 hours of execution + 12 days of eluding the authorities = Profit. If only everything else in life were so precise! We’re in the wrong racket!

12 12 12 premieres on Apple TV on November 13. You can check out the teaser clip below.
