Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan are teaming up—or rather, working against each other—for Apple TV’s new bank-heist drama 12 12 12. In the official trailer released Tuesday, Mackie’s character calls it “the biggest banking heist in the history of Europe” (in this world, heist movies like The Bank Job, Inside Man, and Ocean’s Eleven apparently don’t exist). As the trailer explains, the show’s title refers to the three timelines of a heist: 12 months of planning, 12 hours of the heist, and 12 days after. The trailer teases just enough without giving away the whole story or revealing what Dornan’s team is really stealing. Dornan’s criminal mastermind and his team are shown plotting, drilling an underground hole, and basking in stacks of cash. At one point, he claims he’s stealing so his family can build a life together, suggesting the series may be adding a layer of humanity (or justification) to Dornan’s villainy. Meanwhile, Mackie’s character doggedly hunts him down. “He stole from me, and I believe in revenge,” he says.
