With back-to-school season—and the attendant buying frenzy—underway, it’s time for another end-of-summer tradition. That’s right, it’s 2006 Week at The A.V. In addition to the best TV shows and movies of 2006, you can look forward to features on The Departed and An Inconvenient Truth by our film team, as well as retrospectives from our TV team on The CW’s arrival and the debut seasons that made the year. We’re also revisiting Hollywood’s earliest attempts at harnessing the power of the internet, the game-changing video game release, and a Disney hit that got lost in translation. So update your MySpace wall—it’s reportedly coming back, in as-yet-unknown form—and grab your Razr, but leave the low-rise jeans at home.
