A Garfunkel And Oates show highlights an aggressive and impressive slate of upcoming television projects from IFC

The prospective shows include a wide variety of A.V. Club favorites, most notably a full-on pilot for Garfunkel & Oates, the painfully adorable musical-comedy duo whose long-rumored, semi-autobiographical television vehicle looks likely to cement their status as a distaff Flight Of The Conchords.

Other promising projects on the docket include a script for a television adaptation of Chris Gethard’s memoir A Bad Idea I’m About To Do co-written by Tom Scharpling (of The Best Show On WFMU and Scharpling & Wurster fame) called Stupid Life. The line-up also includes offerings from the likes of Matt Besser & Rich Fulcher (Cult Following, a satire about a pair of health food restaurant proprietors who end up leading a cult), Kyle Dunigan (a comedy about the colorful community that springs up around a New England church) and many more, including a Megan Mullally vehicle entitled Two Idiots. Obviously, many of these projects will probably never come to fruition, or never make it beyond the script stage. But IFC nevertheless has plenty of intriguing projects in the hopper.
