A group of beer-bottle musicians covered Toto’s “Africa”

“Africa” by Toto is unquestionably the greatest song ever recorded by dorks hitting gongs on top of a pile of giant books. It’s also a song best accompanied by alcohol—which transforms lines like “Her moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation” into profound brilliance. It’s fitting, then, to hear glassware enthusiasts The Bottle Boys cover the song—including percussion and the song’s extended marimba solo—using nothing but glass and plastic bottles. The group—who've also released bottle-only covers of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” and “Under The Sea” from The Little Mermaid—manage to strip out most of the song’s dumb-but-awesome flourishes while still maintaining the undeniably catchy melody that made “Africa” such a massive hit back in 1982.
