The Dune 3 popcorn bucket has 2 holes

AMC’s popcorn bucket for Dune: Part Two stopped the filmgoing world in its tracks. Featuring an opening shaped like the maw of a sandworm, the device quickly went viral, eventually getting a whole song on Saturday Night Live wherein Marcello Hernandez sang about losing his virginity to the bucket. The jokes about the bucket were, frankly, delightful, and we all had a lot of fun. But with Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy coming to a close this December, AMC clearly realized it had to do something to top its last bucket. The theater chain has arrived at a wonderfully simple solution: A second hole.

Obviously, this is a good idea because it makes it easier to share popcorn with a friend. But in the event that you’re going to Dune: Part Three solo, or just want a bucket of popcorn to yourself, there’s also a new, longer single-wormed bucket, which adds the detail of—in the words of Dune—a sandworm thumper to the design. AMC hasn’t yet revealed the price of these devices, though as The Hollywood Reporter notes, it’s not unusual for specialty popcorn buckets to go for $25 to $50, with Regal’s recent design for Fantastic Four: The First Steps going for a whopping $80. At least it includes the popcorn.

Dune: Part Three enters theaters on December 18. It is rated PG-13, by the way.
