The war is over and peak coziness returns in All Creatures Great And Small season 7 first look

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that the world is kind of a tire fire at the moment—this week alone has been a nightmare—so there’s probably no better time to contemplate heading back to the bucolic Yorkshire Dales for a new season of All Creatures Great And Small. Thankfully, PBS’ Masterpiece can read the room and has thoughtfully provided us with a season 7 release date and a first look at the new episodes, which will arrive in January 2027.

Based on the beloved books by James Herriott (the pen name of real-life Yorkshire veterinarian J. Alf Wright), All Creatures is peak cozy TV, full of sweet but never saccharine stories with plenty of adorable animal co-stars for good measure. And the new season will give everyone the chance for a fresh start. World War II is over, and the gang is back together at Skeldale House after what feels like forever. Sure, it sounds like the arrival of a new vet in town may make things challenging professionally, and the post-war rationing that will remain in effect for the next several years is sure to be annoying. But these are exactly the kinds of stories this show does best.

Stars Nicholas Ralph, Samuel West, Anna Madeley, Rachel Shenton, Callum Woodhouse, and Patricia Hodge are all back, along with Derek the dog, who plays Mrs. Pumphrey’s beloved Pekingese Tricki Woo. Caolan McCarthy will be joining the cast as the aforementioned new rival vet, and if word on the street is anything to go by, we’ll meet some new exotic animals too. Season 7 will premiere on January 17, 2027, on PBS, with new episodes airing weekly. Check out more photos below.
