All of late-night TV unites for #OrlandoUnited

The outpouring of support in the wake of the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando continues, with hundreds of people standing in line to donate blood while thousands more have donated over $3 million to support the victims of the attack. Other efforts and outreach are being tracked via the hashtag #OrlandoUnited, and Monday night saw all of late-night TV show its support of the LGBTQ community (we’re sure Chelsea Handler will have something to say eventually).
On The Nightly Show, Larry Wilmore addressed “future impeached President Trump’s” self-congratulatory remarks about the shooting, as well as his intolerant stance on immigration which, the host notes, would have severely cut down on the number of Trump’s marriages. More importantly, Wilmore reminds viewers of the safe haven offered to the LGBTQ community by clubs like Pulse, and just how far and far in between these spaces are.

The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah noted that President Obama has had to address the nation in the wake of a mass shooting more often than he has hosted State dinners during his presidency. And those 16 press conferences took place in a briefing room named after James S. Brady, who was a victim of gun violence.
