Amanda Seyfried is good on sex scenes for time being

It’s an aspect of the job that’s become stranger to Seyfried as she’s gotten older, whereas she used to embrace those kinds of scenes earlier in her career. “It used to be so fun. It was a non-thing. It was like, ‘I get to make out with a hot person today … And they’re paying me,'” she said. Most actors nowadays will be the first to say that, despite how the steamy final product turns out on screen, the experience of filming sex scenes isn’t sexy at all. In reality, it’s more technical and is typically discussed and choreographed by an intimacy coordinator—an industry standard that didn’t become the norm on sets until after the #MeToo movement, and probably wasn’t on the sets that Seyfried alluded to. Some stars feel comfortable in those environments, while others would prefer to minimize it as much as possible. While Seyfried is strongly opposed to sexually explicit scenes right now, she’s not entirely ruling them out for the future—but it sounds like she’d really prefer to avoid them. “Maybe if [the project] came along again [at a later point], maybe I’d be in a different space. But I don’t wanna deal with being naked with a stranger.”
