Following last week's tidbit about Richard Gere being burned in effigy in India, AP reports that an Indian court has issued a warrant for Gere's arrest following his very public, very taboo, and really kinda gross display of groping (er, affection). The sad thing is, the unwitting object of Gere's pawing, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, is also being targeted by the court, and has been summoned to appear before a judge on May 5. The maximum penalty for such an offense is three months in prison, though it doesn't seem likely that any hard time will be done.
