Autobots, roll out and see 1986's Transformers: The Movie on the big screen for free

As we reported back in August, Shout! Factory and Fathom Events are going to bring The Transformers: The Movie back to theaters for a one-night event later this month on September 27, finally giving a new generation a chance to see what a good Transformers movie looks like. Forget the Michael Bay films: This one has a character who says “shit,” a transforming planet voiced by Orson Welles, and what is probably the highest body count of any kids’ movie ever (at least a dozen named characters from the Transformers cartoon suffer violent deaths within the first 30 minutes).

Whether you’re already a dedicated Cybertronian or you’re eager to see what all of the fuss is about—seriously, a guy says “shit” and it’s great—The A.V. Club is giving away 10 pairs of tickets to Fathom’s Transformers: The Movie screenings on September 27. All you have to do to enter is email us at [email protected] by noon CT tomorrow, Wednesday, September 19, with the following information: Your full name, preferred email, and a first and second choice for the theater where you’d like to see the film. We’ll pull winners and notify them by email tomorrow afternoon. You can find more information about Fathom’s screenings—which will also include a preview of the Bumblebee movie—at this link.
