We’re less than a week out from the premiere of the 59th season of 60 Minutes, a premiere that’s already been scrutinized for the entire summer. The new season of the news magazine will be the first with executive producer Nick Bilton at the helm and the first without some longtime correspondents, including Scott Pelley and Cecilia Vega. And even though there was famously some interference from CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss last year, particularly with a segment about Salvadoran prison CECOT, this season will be the clearest example yet of Weiss’ vision of 60 Minutes.
