Billy Joel recently turned the lights back on, but he will be at least temporarily dimming them for a bit this summer. The musician shared today that eight of his shows this spring and summer will be rescheduled after an undisclosed surgical procedure. Joel is expected to make a full recovery after the four-month tour postponement. The next performance date will be July 5 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first,” Joel writes in a statement on his website. “I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding.”
Joel has been performing joint stadium dates for the past couple of summers. Before that, the musician performed a monthly residency at Madison Square Garden from January 2014 until its final performance in July 2024. Last year, Joel also released his first single in 17 years, “Turn The Lights Back On,” and performed the new track at the Grammys. It’s safe to assume Joel has no plans to retire in the near future, and probably can’t wait to get back on the road.
Rescheduled dates can be found below.
