Black Moth spreads “White Lies” (with help from one of Nick Cave’s Bad Seeds)

Getting your album produced by Jim Sclavunos of Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds (as well as Cave’s other band, Grinderman) is quite a coup—but even with that vote of confidence aside, Condemned To Hope is a chilly, churning batch of songs. The new album by England’s Black Moth features standouts like “White Lies,” (which is being debuted here), a pounding mass of heavy, blackened punk rock fronted by the spiky vocals of lead singer Harriet Bevan. It’s not exactly as theatrical as The Bad Seeds, but it synchs right up with Grinderman’s seething swagger.

Condemned To Hope will be released September 15 via New Heavy Sounds.
