Brian Wilson is going on tour to perform Pet Sounds for the last time
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary Beach Boys album Pet Sounds, and to celebrate the occasion Brian Wilson is going on a world tour. Once the tour’s done, though, he’ll be dropping his wishes that he were older and packing up his sloop, because these shows will apparently be the final times he ever performs Pet Sounds. That comes from Pitchfork, and though it’s not clear whether that means he’ll stop performing the album as a whole or stop performing its songs altogether, erring on the side of caution might be a good idea.
The tour kicks off in New Zealand in March and then gradually heads west until Wilson hits the Harrah’s Casino in Bijou, California, so when he describes this as a “world tour” he’s really not exaggerating. The full list of tour dates is below.
