Brooklyn, meet The Blackcoat’s Daughter early and for free
More than a year after it wowed our critics in Toronto and at Fantastic Fest, The Blackcoat’s Daughter, a.k.a. February, is finally making its way to theaters. In his festival review, The A.V. Club’s A.A. Dowd called the deeply atmospheric film “a horror movie that’s at once clearly indebted to its genre predecessors (shades of Suspiria, The Shining, and Halloween) and stylistically distinctive enough to feel new.” It also has a bit of a Lynchian vibe going on—think blondes and brunettes with secrets—if that helps seal the deal.
