Canty douses Fugazi reunion rumors
As millions queue up for the chance to attend the Led Zeppelin reunion in November, Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty has denied the rumor that his band will be reuniting (ahem, ending its hiatus) this fall. Recently Canty has backed Bob Mould on tour and formed a new project with Nation Of Ulysses/The Make-Up/Weird War frontman Ian Svenonius, as well as continuing his arty DVD project Burn To Shine. Citing family obligations as the reason behind Fugazi's five-year-and-counting break, Canty explains, "Instead of waiting around years to do Fugazi, we said, 'Let's run in our separate directions, and we'll revisit it when it comes time.'" Canty also told billboard.com that, despite frequent offers, "no amount of money" would get Fugazi to play a giant rock festival, and that the group would be more likely to book a reunion show at the legendary Maxwell's in Hoboken than at Coachella. As for the immediate rumor that Fugazi would be playing at D.C.'s Fort Reno in the fall, Canty joked, "We can all have a moment of silence that day together."
And just for the hell of it:
