Carlos Santana was forced to postpone a show in San Antonio, TX last night after he experienced a medical emergency during soundcheck, Billboard reports. The guitar player was reportedly rushed to a local hospital, where his illness was determined to be the result of dehydration. “It is with profound disappointment that I have to inform you all that tonight’s show in San Antonio has been postponed,” Santana’s manager, Michael Vrionis, said in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution and the health of Mr. Santana, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent course of action.”

Santana is “doing well and is looking forward to coming back to San Antonio soon as well as continuing his US Tour,” according to Vrionis. Ticket-holders were reportedly encouraged to hang onto their tickets, although how soon the show will be rescheduled is unclear as of this writing.

Santana is currently in the midst of his Oneness tour, with future dates expected to continue as scheduled as of this writing. The musician and his eponymous band are currently slated to play a different venue in Sugar Land, TX tonight, before moving on to a few cities in Oklahoma, Nashville, New Orleans, and Las Vegas in the coming weeks.

This isn’t the first time Santana has postponed one of his shows. In 2022, he canceled six shows after collapsing onstage due to heat exhaustion. He also postponed his Vegas residency earlier this year after breaking his finger and canceled a run of shows in 2021 due to an “unscheduled heart procedure.”
