CBS also picked up Bad Teacher because it’s CBS and can do what it wants

Hilary Winston—a writer on the first two seasons of Community and the last two seasons of Happy Endings—penned the pilot adaptation of the film of the same name, and will executive produce with Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who wrote the original, $100 million grossing film. Ari Graynor slides into the Cameron Diaz role, which kind of makes sense since she played a younger version of that type in Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist and The Sitter, and Ryan Hansen—presumably taking the unflattering Justin Timberlake role—David Alan Grier, Sara Gilbert, and Kristin Davis round out the rest of the cast. It’s a midseason pickup, so if a few of CBS’ other comedies take off, look for this to land in a burn-off spot in about a year.
