Céline Dion reportedly joins lineup of stars who won’t play the inauguration

Famous French Canadian Céline Dion sang for the sinking of James Cameron’s Titanic, but she will not lend her dulcet tones to the end of America as we know it. According to The Wrap, the apparently desperate team behind Donald Trump’s inauguration could not enlist the “My Heart Will Go On” crooner, even though Vegas hotelier Steve Wynn “promised” he would get her.

Dion now joins an illustrious list of musicians who have scorned the Trump camp one way or another. Elton John’s rep emphatically said the star would not be showing up. Despite a New York Post report that Andrea Bocelli was being courted by Trump himself, the tenor thought better of taking the gig fearing fan outrage. Garth Brooks is also, per The Wrap, now a no. Perhaps this group could all get together for a “We Said No To Trump” Tour.

Still, there are some who have announced they will be participating. Just today, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints revealed that The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will sing. Meanwhile, Jackie Evancho, a teen soprano who was on America’s Got Talent in 2010, has said she will be responsible for the national anthem.
