Chicago, here's your chance to see Widows early and for free
A new film from Oscar-winning director Steve McQueen is always an event, and his latest, the female-led heist thriller Widows, is especially so. We were already excited for the film thanks to its impressive cast—including Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya, Brian Tyree Henry, and more. But our own A.A. Dowd further piqued our interest with his positive review of the film out of the Toronto International Film Festival, where he called it a “a crackerjack and highly satisfying heist thriller” that he compares to “a Michael Mann crime opus, only with a sociopolitical dimension.”
If you’re in Chicago, and your interest is similarly piqued, we’ve got good news: We’re giving away tickets to an advance screening of Widows this coming Wednesday, November 7, at 7 p.m. at the AMC River East. To claim yours, just follow this link and enter some basic information. Just remember to show up early, as advance screenings like this one are intentionally overbooked. A butt for every seat, we always say.
