Chicago, see Guillermo Del Toro’s Crimson Peak early and for free

After a few major cast shake ups (Benedict Cumberbatch and Emma Stone had originally signed on to star), Guillermo Del Toro is finally ready to open the doors to Crimson Peak. Taking inspiration from films like The Innocents and The Haunting, Del Toro has been pretty vocal about defining his latest project as a gothic romance, rather than a traditional horror movie. In the film, Mia Wasikowska’s Edith Cushing gets caught up in the peculiar lives of the Sharpe siblings (Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain) at their titular estate, a creaky, isolated mansion with secrets of its own. Crimson Peak opens nationwide on October 16, but The A.V. Club and Universal have an opportunity for you to see it for free on Tuesday, October 13.
