Chris Pratt trains a little Chris Pratt in Way Of The Warrior Kid trailer

Chris Pratt’s conversion from shlubby, loveable goofball to ab-toned RFK and Charlie Kirk-praising action hero continues in the first trailer for Apple TV’s McG-directed family film, Way Of The Warrior Kid. Based on a bestseller from controversial former Navy SEAL turned author, podcaster, and right-wing Covid denier Jocko Willinick, the trailer sees Pratt’s wounded SEAL forced to move in with his sister (Crystal Lake‘s Linda Cardellini) and her decidedly un-gung-ho son Marc (Belfast‘s Jude Hill).

With Marc being bullied at school and unable to carry Uncle Jake’s heavy carry-on bag, some tough love is in order, as the burly Jake essentially bullies his nephew into not being bullied any more through pull-ups, early morning garbage can wake up calls, and ju-jitsu training with a terrifying-looking instructor (played by Willinick). Or, as Apple’s description of the film calls Pratt’s methods, “Jake devises an ambitious program he calls Operation Warrior Kid based on his SEAL training. Instead of teaching his nephew how to fight, Jake shows Marc what real courage is, facing down his own demons along the way.”

Written by Will Staples (Without Remorse, video game Call Of Duty 3: Modern Warfare 3), and directed by Terminator Salvation‘s McG, the film also stars Ava Torres, Levi McConaughey, Darien Sills-Evans, Carl McDowell, and Parker Young and premieres on Apple TV on November 25.
