If you’re on the fence about Community’s increasingly cutesy promotional stunts, just stop reading now and move on to making lascivious Alison Brie comments: NBC has announced that Thursday’s premiere will be preceded by a 7 p.m. ET “Twittersode,” which is a word that should hereby be carved in solid granite and tossed into the deepest heart of the ocean, never to be read or spoken aloud again. More than just one last desperate grab for attention, however, it will actually serve as a quasi “prequel scene” to the first episode of the new season, during which characters from the show will interact over the course of 80 tweets to “make arrangements for their first meet-up of the year, as well as preparations for their first class, Anthropology 101,” which will be taught by guest star/fellow promotional stunt Betty White. To see it, you’ll need to follow all of the show’s characters on Twitter at the addresses below. With any luck, by the time the season premiere is over, NBC will finally feel confident that the show has an audience and won’t have to continue going to such embarrassing lengths to make other people aware of it.
