In what seems like it could be half of an indie rock Avengers lineup, Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile announced earlier this year that they were joining forces to fight back an alien invasion in New York and also record an album together. Now, they’ve actually announced that the joint LP will be called Lotta Sea Lice, and that it’ll be available on October 13. A press release refers to the album as a “conversation between friends” that is “documented in raw, unvarnished song,” and Vile says that he and Barnett originally just intended to jam together on a few tracks that they never intended to release. However, “the vibe was so strong” that they ended up with a full album, and thus Lotta Sea Lice was born. The video for their first single, “Over Everything,” is below.

You can pre-order Lotta Sea Lice here, and some tour dates for Barnett and Vile are below as well.
