While ’90s throwback bands are a dime a dozen, few fill the space once occupied by The Lemonheads. Thankfully, Dead Stars are a pretty good approximation of what would have happened if Evan Dando kept his band’s momentum going. On March 4, Dead Stars will release Bright Colors on its own Weird Tree Records, but The A.V. Club is premiering “In My Mind” out ahead of the record’s release. The track is the kind of power-pop tune that makes every line Jeff Moore sings into a hook of its very own, making it an earworm that, once it’s made itself at home, won’t soon leave.
