If the show goes to series, it’ll be Wolf’s second FBI-themed series just this year; he also sold a scripted show about the bureau to NBC back in August. (At present, his packed roster of programs also includes the sprawling Chicago series, Law & Order: SVU, and a potential boy band drama with former One Direction member Zayn Malik.) The new reality program would also mark Wolf’s first direct collaboration with USA, despite the fact that it’s served for years as one of the primary cable hosts for the producer’s ever-lucrative Law & Order franchise.
Meanwhile, the announcement came just shortly before Deadline posted another, more somber story from the prolific TV creator, reflecting on his experiences on the 15th anniversary of 9/11. In a bizarre coincidence, Wolf was actually working on a scripted miniseries about a bombing in New York—titled Terror, and scheduled to shoot at the World Trade Center—on the day of the attacks. He was also in the process of filming a reality TV pilot about a New York police unit, which ended up losing a dozen members in the wake of the event.
