Doechii wants fans to know her vocals will never give catfish. After delivering an emotional speech for her Best Rap Album win at this year’s Grammy Awards, the Florida-based artist took a victory lap with a standout performance of “Catfish” and “Denial Is A River.” (Literally—there was a treadmill involved.) Apparently, some people thought it was too good to be true. The rapper took to TikTok this weekend to respond to a comment implying that “some parts of the live song you can see that she’s not saying anything and the song is still playing with her pre-recorded voice,” a suggestion which caused her to literally yell in frustration.
“I can’t possibly get on here and say this calmly or nicely: y’all are stupid as hell. So slow!” she said—or “screamed” may be more accurate. “That is my DJ’s voice picking up on the lines that I can’t say because I’m doing a somersault. That entire performance was live.”
