Don’t worry about the leaks, Game Of Thrones is still doing fine

The recent HBO hacks have largely been focused on embarrassing a CEO and spoiling Game Of Thrones, but that plan doesn’t seem to have had much of an impact on the show’s ratings. For the last two weeks, details about upcoming episodes—and one full episode—have been leaked before Game Of Thrones aired, but a story from Deadline says that the most recent episode actually set the record for the highest ratings in the show’s history.

The previous record-holder was the season seven premiere, “Dragonstone,” which pulled in a total of 10.1 million viewers, but this week’s “The Spoils Of War” topped it with 10.2 million. It’s certainly possible that people who saw the leaked episode simply tuned in so they could see Daenerys roasting Lannister jerks again, but either way, people are still watching Game Of Thrones despite these hackers trying to dump Game Of Thrones secrets onto the internet.

That news probably isn’t good enough to make HBO’s headache from the hack go away, but at least things aren’t all bad just yet. Plus, this is a shorter season of Game Of Thrones than normal, so there’s probably only so much content the hackers can leak.
