Donal Logue to be another loose cannon who gets results, this time in Gotham City

Rumors that Fox’s Gotham would offer the role of Jim Gordon to Donal Logue were quickly shot down by Logue himself, who reminded everyone that Gotham would focus on much younger, and therefore more dramatically rich versions of the Batman characters they love. But it turns out Logue will be in Gothamas Harvey Bullock, the older detective who serves as Gordon’s partner and mentor, and who is described by Warner Bros.’ most sophisticated character trope-generating machine as playing “loose with police procedure, but he gets results … and he does it with old-school, forceful panache.” Those who have already spoiled Gotham for themselves with 70-plus years of Batman comics and myriad adaptations know that some of Bullock’s “looseness”—which nonetheless gets results—involves being crooked, if not actively scheming against the department, while also getting results. Still, if anyone can make disobeying procedure and being kind of a jerk about it charming, it’s the star of Terriers, where he similarly got results.
