Sorry we’re late with this week’s list, folks. We’d try to come up with a decent excuse, but we respect you too much for that. Truth is: we just flaked. So in the interest of expediency, we won’t take up too much time here up front, except to say that there are a trio of weird and/or worthwhile indie films that deserve your attention this week (namely Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans, Taxidermia and Beeswax), and a trio of good TV releases (namely Party Down, The Unusuals and the award-winning, long-unavailable PBS docu-series Eyes On The Prize). Today’s also the big Blu-ray release day for The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, though since they’re arriving in the theatrical versions only (and in a single box set), you may want to wait until Christmas, when they’re sure to be re-released in their extended cuts, and individually. You can wait, right?
