A couple of compelling documentaries top-line this week’s list: Burma VJ (a street-level view of a government crackdown on protestors) and Collapse (a chilling prediction of our imminent doom). Also interesting this week: the flawed-but-insightful claymation feature Mary And Max (one of the truest depiction of Asperger’s on film that this reporter has ever seen), the flawed-but-funny Youth In Revolt, and the flawed-but-fun post-apocalyptic actioner The Book Of Eli. And then there’s the straight-to-video Unthinkable, the much-buzzed-about thriller starring Sam Jackson as a torturer who tries to get terrorist Michael Sheen to give up the location of three nuclear bombs. It’s moral dilemma-riffic!
