Ed Sheeran to guest star on Game Of Thrones
According to Entertainment Weekly, lovable red-haired moppet Ed Sheeran is going to be heading to Westeros for a cameo appearance on HBO’s Game Of Thrones. As the EW story notes, multiple musical artists have popped up on the show over the years, including Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, Coldplay’s Will Champion, and the folks from Sigur Rós and Mastodon. Apparently, Sheeran is “a favorite of cast members,” but the producers have been unable to get him on board for a cameo until now.
Naturally, we don’t know anything about who he’ll be playing or where and when he’ll pop up, but his red hair would make him a good candidate to play a Red Priest like Carice Van Houten’s Melisandre. He’d just have to wear a lot of red, give birth to a shadow monster, and frequently get naked (but that last one’s no different from any other Game Of Thrones character).
As we reported a few days ago after watching ice melt on Facebook, Game Of Thrones will premiere on July 16.
