Elisabeth Shue is the new lady police person on CSI
With Marg Helgenberger scheduled to depart CSI in January, CBS has at last found the actress to fill its “headstrong blonde female police person with a troubled past” vacancy: Elisabeth Shue will join the show as a series regular in February, making for her first recurring television role since the short-lived 1980s drama Call To Glory. Shue reportedly plays an investigator whose temper issues recently landed her in anger management and, according to rumors—oh, those fictional rumors!—may have even been fired by Ted Danson’s D.B. Russell when she worked for him previously. So clearly, sparks are going to fly, perhaps igniting some nearby charred corpses. “Shue will have some pretty big shoes to fill,” said an Access Hollywood copywriter who’s thinking about killing himself.
