After his relationship with Erykah Badu ended, Andre 3000 wrote the breakup song “Ms. Jackson,” in which he asked forgiveness from Badu’s mother for making her daughter cry. He’s since apologized a trillion times (roughly, given the song’s extensive play since 2000), but when the song was first released, it hit a sore spot for Badu. The Mama’s Gun artist recently admitted on the Rap Radar podcast that she wasn’t ready to hear Andre 3000’s apology at the time, but her mom was really into being the titular lady.
