Fosse/Verdon heads to the beach for some good old-fashioned drunk drama

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Tuesday, May 7. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
Fosse/Verdon (FX, 10 p.m.): In the history of American theatre, the musical looms large—but the drunk drama’s there, too, getting sauced in Oklahoma!’s shadow. Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf. Long Day’s Journey Into Night. True West. It’s not a short list. So it’s fitting that, in an episode of Fosse/Verdon that literally steps away from the bright lights of Broadway and heads to the beach, the show would also step away from the razzle dazzle in favor of this particular kind of closed-room, can’t-escape, can’t-unsay-what’s-said kind of story.
